Hello, my name is Beverly McClure & I am the owner & designer here at Designs by Beverly, LLC in Carrollton, Ohio. I have made silk flower arrangements for myself & family for years & I really enjoy being creative. My dream of selling my silk flowers started with 10 Christmas wreaths at a local craft show. The following spring I started making summer cemetery pots, wreaths, summer home arrangements and hanging baskets for friends that didn't have the time to keep up with watering live plants. I started selling from my garage in 2012. Then I used about three-fourths of our 12' x 16' storage shed from 2013 through 2015. Finally in the Spring of 2016, I opened my own store, which has bright lights, so you can easily see the arrangements & offers three times the amount of display area that I previously had, plus a front porch for additional items, like wrought iron plant stands & unique plant holders, such as tractors, chairs, tricycles, yard stakes, etc.
My husband, Rob, lends a hand whenever I need his help with something. He makes the wooden planter boxes for me, and various other things I come up with!
In my spare time, I enjoy photography, scrapbooking, and time spent with family & friends.

Designs by Beverly will hold an open house Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22 and 23. The new shop is located at 1021 Mayham Road NE, Carrollton. Hours on Friday will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Owner Beverly McClure has been making her own silk flower arrangements for family and friends for many years. “I wasn’t sure about starting my own business
but was encouraged by family and friends to try it,” said McClure.
She started the shop in a small building adjacent to her home on Mayham Road, but it just wasn’t big enough. So last year, she and her husband, Rob put the finishing touches on a 16-foot by 28-foot building beside their home. Rob said they worked on it a little at a time and finally finished last year.
Beverly said she began by making Christmas wreaths and sold them at the Dellroy Craft Show in November. Several friends began asking her to make them silk flower arrangements placed in hanging baskets. Several of the people that wanted them were older or traveled and weren’t able to take proper care of hanging baskets on porches, so the silk flowers were the perfect alternative. “Most of my
work is in pots and hanging baskets. I do home arrangements too,” said Beverly.
Beverly does design flower arrangements for all seasons. She said her taste is not primitive but she does use a few rustic containers for arrangements.
This time of year, Beverly is busy making tombstone saddles and sprays that are used on the grave. Those come with firm anchors so they don’t blow away.
Beverly has experience in accounting and has taken several classes in floral design. But the items she makes are just from her imagination. She recently obtained some unique green John Deere tractor plant holders and for Carroll County farmers they should sell well.
Other items include seasonal home arrangements, outdoor containers, wreaths, grapevine angels, crosses, wall baskets, tabletop arrangements, funeral arrangements, wrought iron plant stands, shepherds hooks, basket sleeves, animal and angel figurines, decorative gift and storage boxes, tapestry and quilted throws.
During the open house, all arrangements will be 10% off and door prizes will be given away.
Beverly invites you to visit her new showroom and see her displays of silk flowers.
